Unleash your creativity and pen a poem for your chance to feature in a special museum display and win £20 of Amazon vouchers.
The first in our new series of community competitions, we invite budding poets of all ages to lay down some lyrics about life in lockdown. Lets celebrate our community, friends and family with some poetry positivity.
To enter simply email your poem to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Don’t forget to include your age – there will be a winner selected from both the adult and child (under 16) entries.
The deadline has now been extended to 10pm on Friday 24th April and the winners will be announced on Monday 27th April.
Thanks to the Valence Volunteers for their generous sponsorship making this competition possible.
And the winners are…
Congratulations to our winner in the children’s category Jasmine Lakhanpal (age 8) who wowed us with her fab rainbow writing poem 🌈
Congratulations to our winner in the adult’s category Sarah Mills who inspired us with her creative and thoughtful ‘Red is the New Green’ poem🚦
Thank you for all of the entries we received for our Lockdown Poetry competition. The standard was very high and it has been a real treat reading all of your creative poems.
Jasmine and Sarah have each won £20 of Amazon vouchers and these poems along with our other great entries will be used to create a special museum display once we re-open.
