If you need help with family history, you might like to take advantage of our free monthly Saturday helpdesks run on a first-come first-served basis by the local branch of the East of London Family History Society. Just drop in between 10am and 3.45pm (closed for lunch 12.30 to 1.15pm). See our event pages for upcoming helpdesk dates.
Please note we are unable to carry out detailed research enquiries. For details of professional researchers, please contact the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA).
We can provide printouts from microfilm, photocopies of printed material and digital copies of archive material and photographs for use in private research subject to copyright law, and payment of a Reprographic Feeopens PDF file . We constantly strive to ensure that our collections remain relevant and engaging for current, as well as future visitors that come to Valence House. In turn, we readily welcome donations from organisations and individuals with connections to Barking and Dagenham.
