Barking Memories Café – Scented Reminiscence Session

Tuesday 21st May 2019

1pm-3pm

Valence House & Thames Festival Trust invite you to share your memories of Barking at a relaxed reminiscence session. An opportunity for anyone who has memories of working and/or living in Barking to join us to look at old photos and memorabilia. Contribute to our new ‘scented history’ project ‘The Barking Stink’!

With a slideshow and introduction by Valence House’s Mark Watson. Everyone is welcome to attend. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who worked in Barking’s industries/factories, those who lived/worked/went to school around Barking Town Quay, River Roding, Barking Creek areas or have memories of Fisher Street/Abbey Road shops and businesses to share.

Free to attend, no booking required just turn up on the day. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided.

For more info or questions, contact Nikki from The Barking Stink project on n.shaill@thamesfestival.org 0207928 8998

(A session will also take place at Thames View Library on Tues 28 May, 11am-1pm).
