An artist led walk to test out routes and ideas for new audio guides and maps. Walk Five is South of the A13: Riverside, Thames View + walking through the pioneering 1950’s estate Thames View to view the Thames at Creekmouth, to Barking Riverside (Barkelona / Land of Opportunity / Thames Gateway / delete as appropriate) through nature reserves, Thames Paths and on to Dagenham Dock. An extremely fertile part of the borough, rich in history & pioneering spirit.
10.30am Meet at Christ Church Thames View
The walk will finish at Dagenham Dock Station. Verity will be getting the bus back to Thames View if anyone would like to travel with her.
We will walk for approximately 4/5 miles – if people would like to join for a section, or drop off earlier, this is totally fine – just let Verity know and we’ll make a plan.
Free event. Register your interest via Eventbrite.
Refreshments will be provided.
This walk is open to all ages. Adults are particularly encouraged, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
EVERYDAY FUTURES is a Heritage Lottery Funded project led by artist Verity-Jane Keefe in partnership with Barking & Dagenham’s Archives & Local Studies Centre at Valence House.
