Description

Painting of Chequers Corner, just before demolition work began on the site. This painting was exhibited in the Barking Art Society Exhibition of works held in the O'Leary Gallery, at Valence House Museum, 9th June to 7th July 2007. Selected by staff to be added to the collection.

Physical description

Small watercolour painting showing the junction of Ripple Road and Chequers Lane, known as Chequers Corner. Shows the army and navy store on the corner with other shops either side. Has a lone figure in a blue coat walking past the shop fronts. Signed in the bottom right corner, in blue biro, D. Rayner 2007. Monuted and glazed.
