Description

Plaque awarded to the winners of the Dagenham Town Show's Mixed Tennis Competition. Awarded between 1964 and 1979.

Physical description

Shield shaped wooden plaque with a central silver decoration that consists of an engrave section, surrounded by a moulded wreath, which in turn is surrounded by floral motifs, incised lines and scrolls. The plaque is made in three sections and has 13 small silver shields, engraved with the winners names, on its reverse, and ten on its front, only two of which are engraved. In the centre of the silver decoration is a green plastic convex badge showing two gold tone crossed tennis racquets with a white tennis ball between the handles.
