Mounted certificate, decorated with foliate designs in tones of blue and red. Highlighted with gold ink. Lower right corner bears the impressed seal of Barking.

Smith, Leonard Wright. / At a special meeting of the council of the / Borough of Barking duly convened and held / in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, East Street, / Barking, on Wednesday, the twelfth day of February,/ 1958, precisely at 7.0 o'clock in the afternoon. / It was moved by The Mayor / Seconded by Councillor Leonard Wright, and / Unanimously Resolved:- / That the honorary Freedom of the Borough / being the most honourable distinction which / it is within the power of the Council to bestow, / be, and the same is hereby conferred upon / Alderman Albert Edward Ball, J.P. / and he is hereby admitted to be an / Honorary Freeman of the Borough / in recoognition of his long and distinguished public services to / Barking, particulars whereof are set out in Minute No. 2946. / The common seal / of the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of the Borough of Barking was hereunto affixed in the / presence of:- / W.
