Description

Coloured photograph showing the Mayor, Cllr Mrs Godfrey shaking hands with Mrs Bastable, the mother-in-law of Hilda Bastable (Mrs Godfrey's daughter). Held in a cream card wallet. From a collection of items documenting Mrs Godfrey's time as Mayor elect for London Borough of Barking for the year 1974-5. Her daughter, Hilda Bastable was her Mayoress for this term.

Physical description

Coloured photograph showing the Mayor in her robes shaking hands with a lady who is wearing an official badge around her neck. Beside this woman is Mr Bastable (Snr), and beside Mrs Godfrey is the Mayoress Mrs Hilda Bastable. Behind them both stands Mr Walsh, Town Hall Superintendent, leaning on the mace. The card wallet is decorated with gilt along the outer edge and a gilt logo on the bottom right corner, and has an embossed decoration on the front. The photograph is framed with a double line in silver.
