Description

Black and White photograph of a group of Barking Council Officers at an annual NALGO dinner at Cranbrook Hall, Ilford, 1955. Second from the left is the Mayor Cllr Alderman Mrs Maud Ball and third from right is her niece Joan who was mayoress. Second from right is Mr Tweedy, Mr Norman Bastable's (Hilda's father-in-law) deputy in the Sanitary Inspectors department. From a collection of items documenting Mrs Godfrey's time as Mayor elect for London Borough of Barking for the year 1974-5. Her daughter, Hilda Bastable was her Mayoress for this term.

Black and white photograph showing a group of 10 people in evening dress. In the front left of the picture stands the Lady Mayor wearing her chain of office. In the front right is the Mayoress, wearing her chain of office. Behind the Mayoress's right shoulder stands Eric Far (former Town Clerk of Barking ) and Mr Bastable (former Chairman of Sanitary Inspectors). On heavily textured matt paper.
