Description

Black and white photograph of a group of four people walking along the promenade at Margate. Second from right is Mr Norman Bastable (father-in-law of Hild Bastable). Possibly take at a Sanitary Inspectors Conference in 1951. From a collection of items documenting Mrs Godfrey's time as Mayor elect for London Borough of Barking for the year 1974-5. Her daughter, Hilda Bastable was her Mayoress for this term.

Physical description

Black and white photograph showing four people walking along a promenade. Second from the right is Mr Bastable, former Chairman of Sanitary Inspectors for Barking. Hi is flanked on his left by one woman and on his right by two men. An inscription on the back of the photograph indicates that he was attending a S.I. (sanitary Inspectors?) Conference at Margate in September 1951.
