Description

Black and white photograph of a large dinner group, taken at Southport in 1954. Among the group include, at the top table, Mr Norman Bastable (4th from the left), Chairman of the Sanitary Inspectors, and Hilda Bastable's father-in-law. Also, his wife Eva May/May Eva, 6th from left, and Cllr Mrs Engwell, 3rd from left. In a cream embossed card wallet. From a collection of items documenting Mrs Godfrey's time as Mayor elect for London Borough of Barking for the year 1974-5. Her daughter, Hilda Bastable was her Mayoress for this term.

Physical description

Black and white photograph of a group of people seated at various tables for after noon tea. The tables are set with crockery and are laid with sandwiches and cakes. In the background is a long table set aside for the Mayoral Party, and in front of the are circular tables laid for 4 people.
