Sepia photograph of donor standing in front of the unexploded parachute mine (see LDVAL 2006.14.1 and LDVAL 2006.14.2), which fell on 6 Marsh Green Road, Dagenham at 22.44pm on 17th September 1940.

Physical description

Small sepia photograph showing two uniformed men standing next to three different types of bombs, a 1000KG Herrmann bomb, a 50KG incendiary bomb, and a parachute bomb. On the left is L/Sgt Ernest Acton, and on the right is Sgt Dalton. They are standing in parkland (King George's Field) and in the background is a tree and houses.
