Photocopy of two photographs relating to the unexploded parachute mine (see LDVAL 2006.14.1, LDVAL 2006.14.2 and LDVAL 2006.14.3), which fell on 6 Marsh Green Road, Dagenham at 22.44pm on 17th September 1940.

Physical description

Black and white photocopy of two photographs, one above the other. The top photograph shows No. 35 bomb disposal unit standing in King Geroge's Park, the site where the Parachute bomb fell in Marsh Green Road. This was L/Sgt Acton's working party. The bottom picture shows two of L/Sgt Acton's colleagues, Cpl Rogers holding the bomb, and Sgt Dalton. The bottom picture was reproduced in Gavin Mortimer's book "The Longest Night".
