Description

Unused coloured picture postcard showing a watercolour painting of St. Margaret's Church. The painting is by Miss Margaret Prior and is titles St. Margaret's in Springtime.From the effects of the late Gwen Shields, ex Borough Librarian.

Physical description

Coloured image showing the Curfew Tower in the right background, behind and to the left of which is St. Margaret's Church, surrounded by gravestones. In the foreground are three silver barked trees, and behind these is a tree covered in pink blossom. The reverse is divided into two sections - the left hand side is blank, except for five printed lines giving the artist details and some history of the site of St. Margaret's Church. The righthand side has five horizontal printed lines for the inclusion of an addess, above which is the space for the stamp.

Accompanying this item was a B/W photographic postcard of the lake at Central Park, Ilford. This item was sent to Redbridge Museum on 03-08-2006 for inclusion on their collections.
