Description

A.R.P. first aid book produced during the Second World War. Gives guidance on the provision of emergency medical treatment, such as sprains and fractures, haemorrhage, unconsciousness and general accidents. Also gives advice for best practice in the event of high explosives and incenduary bombs and gas poisoning. A pocket in the front cover holds a number of leaflets: 1) After the Raid - issued by the Ministry of Home Security London Region Edition December 1940. 2) Civil Defence Public Information Leaflet No. 5 - Fire Precautions in War Time. 3) National Services (Armed Forces) Acts: Explanatory Note. 4) A book plate showing Affections of the Eye.

Physical description

Hardbacked book covered in red leatherette. Front cover has a stamped title and emblem, uncoloured. Book has 128 printed pages, printed throughout in black and white, with numerous illustrations. The inside of the front cover has a expanding clear plastic wallet for holding documents.
