Framed and glazed certificate granting Alderman Albert Edward Ball his O.B.E. Bears the reproduced signatures of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip.

Cream paper printed throughout in black calligraphy handwriting. 23 lines divided into 5 paragraphs. Bear an embossed seal in the top left corner and the signature of Queen Elizabeth II in top right corner and signature of Prince Philip in bottom left corner.

Inscription Written and printed Front Face: Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the / United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her / other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Common wealth, / Defender of the Faith and Sovereign of the Most Excellent / Order of the British Empire to Our trusty and well beloved / Albert Edward Ball Esquire / Greeting / Whereas We have thought fit to nominate and appoint you to / be an Ordinary Officer of the Civil Division of / Our said Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. / We do by these presents grant unto you the Dignity of / an Ordinary Officr od Our said Order and hereby / authorise you to have hold and enjoy the said Dignity and Rank / of an Ordinary Officer of Our aforesaid Order / together with all and singular the privileges thereunto belonging or / appertaining. / Given at Our Court at Saint James's under Our Sign Manual and the Seal of Our said order this First day of January 1968 in the Sixteenth year of Our Reign. / By the Sovereign's Command / Grant of the Dignity of an Ordinary Officer / of the Civil Division of the Order of the British Empire / to Alderman Albert Edward Ball.
