White cotton nightdress that was worn by Elizabeth Weidner (nee Jermy). Elizabeth Jermy was born in Whitechaple, London in 1871. In 1889 she married Walter Charles Weidner, a Gas Labourer from Barking. In 1891, they were living at 5 Collier PLace, Fisher Street, Barking. By 1901 they had moved to 26 James Street, Barking with their 5 year old daughter Elizabeth and 1 year old son Walter. Possibly reused, as the name J. Jones is written inside the collar.

Physical description

White cotton full length nightgown with long sleeves. Machine stitched. Has a pintucked button-down bib with machine made lace panels and ruffle. Has a scalloped collar with lace edging and lace around the cuffs. The lace is of two types, one finer than the other, but both of a diamond design.
