A promotional film for the University of East London. Students from UeL, the University of London, speak about their impressions of higher education within that institution. Willie Dowland, the Student's Union representative at the University opens and closes the video. Jenny Ware, a final year student on the fashion design and marketing course talks about the facilities available at the college and her work placement with a public relations company. Nana, a first year law student and president of the University's African Society talks about the value of one on one seminars and the multi-cultural programme at the University. Steve Gull an economics student and karate teacher talks about the high status of the economics department at UeL. Joanne McGowan, a business studies student talks about her work placement with Kelvin Hughes, a marine navigation equipment manufacturer. Greg Needham, a physiotherapy student highlights the highly practical nature of his course. Shu an accounting and finance student, talks about the IT facilities at the UeL computing centre. Kaz an overseas student from Japan talks about his Phd in plant biotechnology. Paul King a computing information systems student and scuba diver talks about the University Scuba club. Ajit, a manufacturing systems engineering student explains the equipment available for students to use on his course. The video also includes shots of the University's Barking and Stratford Campuses, including the halls of residence, the gym and sports facilities, the library, learning resources centre and student bar. The video stresses both campuses proximity to London and the good transport links, as well as the leisure opportunities of nearby rural Essex.
