Second place for best kept garden in Barking
Silver trophy presented by Alderman J.W. Garland to the 2nd place winner of the annual compitition for the best kept garden of a Barking council house. Awarded between 1953 and 1980.
Silver trophy with a tall body that has three steps and an out-turned lip at the top and three steps and the bottom. The stem as a stepped band in the centre and the foot is steep with two steps. The handles are art deco in style, with decorative details reminiscent of the Empire State Building and leaves. They extend from the rim of the body to the band in the centre of the stem. The front of the body is engraved with the dedication and the back with the names of the winners.
